Why is important to know your skin type? You could be using the wrong skincare and makeup products if you don't know. Having beautiful skin begins with understanding the different skin types and which one you have will help you choose the best skincare routine and the products for maximum efficacy for your daily facial cleansers, essences, and moisturizers. Our skin is the largest organ we have and it absorbs anything we put on it, reason why it is important to choose the right products with natural and organic ingredients. Normally your skin type is determined by your genetics, but our habits and exposure to environmental conditions can impact our skin. Choosing the wrong products for your skin type can lead to irritated skin, breakouts, and premature aging. Choosing the correct skincare routine for your skin type is essential for making your skin appear youthful and healthy.

People of all skin tones can have any of these skin types. How do you know what type of skin you have? Here are some helpful definitions:

Combination skin: dry and flaky on certain parts of the face and excessive oil on others like the T-zone. If you have combination skin, exfoliating your skin cells twice a week will help keep moisture balanced;
Dry skin type: feels uncomfortable and tight and sometimes can look dull and irritated, and may be prone to showing more visible lines. Avoid foam facial cleansers and use protective moisturizers to nourish the skin.
